Refund Policy

Effective Date: April 9, 2026

This Refund Policy applies to paid subscriptions purchased through Bitter Watches of the Night, operated by Daniel L. Ellis. Payments are processed by our merchant of record, who handles billing, tax collection, invoicing, and refund processing on our behalf.

14-Day Refund Window

If you are not satisfied with your subscription, you may request a full refund within fourteen (14) days of your original purchase — no questions asked. This applies to your first subscription payment. Simply contact us or submit the request through the customer billing portal, and we will process the refund promptly.

After 14 Days

After the initial 14-day window, refunds for the current billing period are generally not provided. However, we will always honor refund requests that are required by applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.

If you believe there are exceptional circumstances, you are welcome to contact us and we will review your request on a case-by-case basis.

EU and UK Customers

Customers in the European Union and the United Kingdom retain a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive. We always honor this right regardless of the reason for the request.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the customer billing portal or your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain access to subscription content until that date and will not be charged for the next period.

Cancellation does not automatically trigger a refund. If you wish to cancel and receive a refund, please submit a refund request within the 14-day window described above.

Free Content

A significant portion of Bitter Watches of the Night content is available for free, either as a public preview (no account required) or with a free registered account. No payment is involved for free content, so no refund applies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-service notice.
